For a those seeking to escape from the pressures of modern day life, we have on our doorstep, many acres of wilderness – including the Clara Vale Bird Sanctuary and Wildlife Reserve where you can spend hours exploring without seeing another soul or hearing the sound of modern distractions. There you will see Sika Deer as well as Badger, Fox, Rabbits and the occasional Hare, not to mention the myriad of Birds, including the spectacular Red Kite, recently re-introduced to Wicklow. No surprises - these magnificent birds seems to be thriving here. There are forest and mountain walks, we are within easy reach of the Wicklow Way, with its many way-marked Hill Walks and, for the more adventurous, there are more challenging Rock Climbing activities. There are stables lacally that can offer the opportunity to ride out to beginners and to the experienced  rider. Croneybyrne is situated approximately 6 miles from historic Glendalough, with it’s ancient Monastic City and Lakes, all within the stunning Wicklow Mountains National Park - a national jewel and major attraction. There are Restaurants, Cafe’s and Pubs in the vicinity providing a range of options for eating out and for entertainment.
